A cross-study between 'Emily of Emerald Hill' by Stella Kon and 'No Parking on Odd Days' by Kuo Pao Kun as a starting point from which to investigate the formal structures of a monologue in Theatre.

The formalistic aspect of the inquiry I will concede to be initially driven by personal interest in the matter. As a student of architecture, form would inevitably be one of the first to surface from the pages - even among words. However, as far as form goes, both plays were too simplistic for me and would not be the first I would recommend. But, the study of FORMAL MONOLOGUE is still interesting, and if you are wanting to understand Singapore further, they are well-worth the read.
