Architecture Easter Egg 2017 - Archdaily

IT BEGINS WITH AN EGG

There hovers in a crematorium an egg over still water. Mirrored in the water is the entire expanse of the atrium held up by a disarray of heavens-reaching columns, and in the centre, the egg finds itself. Krematorium Baumschulenweg was a project by Schultes Frank Architekten at the turn of the century and designed for the eternal. The Easter Egg imagines a painted egg via projection of the surrounding atrium space unto itself; the manifestation of the living physical space that converges back into a focal singular point of hopeful creation – the egg.
